Moses Ingram and Lennie James have joined the cast of Joshua Oppenheimer’s musical “The End” for Neon, alongside Michael Shannon, Tilda Swinton, and George MacKay. Bronagh Gallagher, and Tim McInnerny have also been added to the ensemble cast.
The golden-age musical, which explores the last human family, is currently in production in Ireland, with additional production scheduled for Italy and Germany later this year.
Signe Byrge Sørensen and Oppenheimer are producing the film for Final Cut for Real, with co-production from Wild Atlantic Pictures and Match Factory Productions. The Danish Film Institute and Film- und Medienstiftung NRW are supporting the financing.
Marius de Vries, known for his work on La La Land, Annette, and Coda, is serving as an executive music producer on The End, while Josh Schmidt is composing original music for the film. Scandinavian Film Distribution will distribute in Nordic territories, while international sales are being handled by The Match Factory.
Oppenheimer expressed his excitement for the project and the ensemble cast, saying, “I am thrilled to be making The End in collaboration with this miraculous ensemble of artists. I am in awe of each of them. It has been a journey of six years to reach this point, and I could not be more humbled.” With such a talented and diverse cast and crew, The End is shaping up to be a must-see musical event.
Moses Ingram, who is best known for her breakout role as Jolene in Netflix’s “The Queen’s Gambit,” has been making waves in the industry with her impressive talent. She also played Inquisitor Reva in Disney+’s highly-anticipated “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, which is set to premiere later this year. In addition, Ingram starred in Apple’s “Lady in the Lake” alongside Natalie Portman.
Michael Shannon, a veteran actor known for his intense and nuanced performances, recently starred in the limited series “George and Tammy” opposite Jessica Chastain. He also made his directorial debut with the film “Eric LaRue,” which is based on the play of the same name by Brett Neveu.
Tilda Swinton, who is no stranger to musicals after her memorable turn in “Suspiria,” is a highly acclaimed actress who has won numerous awards for her performances in films such as “Michael Clayton” and “We Need to Talk About Kevin.”
George MacKay, who rose to fame with his role in “1917,” is a versatile actor who has been praised for his performances in films such as “Captain Fantastic” and “Pride.”
Bronagh Gallagher, Tim McInnerny, and Lennie James are also talented actors who have made names for themselves in the industry with their memorable performances in film and television.
With such an impressive cast and talented crew behind it, “The End” is sure to be a musical event that audiences won’t want to miss.
