Fathom Entertainment is teaming up with Simeon Faith, the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to bring Moses the Black to theaters beginning January 30, 2026. The crime drama features a heavyweight lineup led by Omar Epps, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo, and Chukwudi Iwuji, and will arrive with an original soundtrack executive produced by Khalifa, including new music from Quavo and others.
Set in present-day Chicago, Moses the Black is inspired by the real-life repentance story of the fifth-century saint. Omar Epps stars as Malik, a powerful Chicago gang leader whose life spirals into conflict and reckoning. Wiz Khalifa plays 2wo-3ree, the bold and unpredictable commander of Malik’s young crew—marking the rapper’s second film role and his first as a leading actor. Quavo takes on the role of Straw, Malik’s longtime enemy, while Iwuji portrays the film’s spiritual anchor, St. Moses the Black.
Writer-director Yelena Popovic (Man of God) helms the project, which also features Corey Hendrix, Cliff Chamberlain, Ahmad Ferguson, Sambou “Bubba” Camara, Kierra Bunch, Skilla Baby, and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Production wrapped this fall in Chicago, with Stoic handling sales during the American Film Market.
The film is produced by Alexandros Potter and Yelena Popovic for Simeon Entertainment on behalf of Simeon Faith. Executive producers include Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson via G-Unit Film & Television; Wiz Khalifa through Taylor Gang Films; and Omar Epps through BrooklynWorks Films. Additional producing partners span the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund—backed by former Cinespace Film Studios owners Alex Pissios and the Mirkopoulos family of Toronto—as well as Brett Hays, Josh Schachter, William Dzombak, Reginald Ahkeem Berry Sr., John Kynigopoulos, Florence Larsonneur, Nat McCormick, and Brandon Burrows.
Moses the Black marks the second collaboration between Fathom and Simeon Entertainment, following their 2022 release of Man of God.
