NATIVES isn’t just a web series — it’s a declaration of independence for storytelling that refuses to fit the mold.
Created by Ronald Hinton (actor, filmmaker, and founder of Shared Soil Productions), with Creative Producer Darnell Dudley and Director Brittany Franklin, the series centers on twenty-something New Yorkers navigating love, identity, and survival in public housing. When Izzy Sanchez returns home to the Trenton Houses after a failed move to LA, he’s forced to face his past — and himself — alongside his tight-knit crew: Kai, Jaz, and Adrian.
Through its raw portrayal of friendship, sexuality, and self-discovery, NATIVES paints a vivid portrait of Black and Brown queer life from the inside out — honest, tender, and unfiltered.
Since its premiere, the series has earned over 290K YouTube views across 25 countries, 1M+ social impressions, and has been celebrated across New York’s creative community — from screenings in all five boroughs to awards like Best Web Series (2024 Blaque/OUT Magazine), a 2025 Queerties nomination, and honors at the Shortform Gala 2025.
Now, the team is in a pivotal moment. To keep their Seed & Spark funds and continue releasing Episodes 3 and 4, NATIVES must hit 80% of its $50K goal ($40K) by Saturday, November 15. Every dollar helps cover essential costs — cast, crew, equipment, locations, and post-production — ensuring the same authenticity and quality that has resonated with viewers worldwide.
Supporting NATIVES means more than funding a show — it’s investing in a new blueprint for how independent, community-driven stories are made and shared.
