Brian Tyree Henry’s upcoming animated series Bass X Machina is getting a new premiere date. Netflix announced at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival that the steampunk adult animated series has been moved from October 6 to November 3, 2026.
The series, produced by Studio Mir, the South Korean animation house behind The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender, follows a father navigating a lawless Steampunk West overrun by outlaws, machines and supernatural terrors, fighting to protect his family while wrestling with the cost of his own brand of justice.
Henry leads the voice cast as Bass alongside Janelle Monae, who plays Glory, and Tati Gabrielle as Dana. Currie Graham, Chaske Spencer, Starletta DuPois and Cree Summer also star. Henry serves as executive producer alongside creator LeSean Thomas, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and Chad Handley, with original music composed by Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder of Wondaland.
The month-long shift gives the series a stronger fall landing window as Netflix heads into its end-of-year programming push.
