Netflix has announced the premiere date for the final season of its long-running family sitcom The Upshaws. The series will return on January 15, 2026, for Part 7, a 12-episode farewell run that will culminate in an emotional series finale.

The streamer also debuted the first teaser, giving viewers a glimpse at the Upshaw family’s last ride — one filled with new dreams, unexpected challenges, and the same messy, heartfelt chaos that made the series a breakout favorite.

Returning for the final bow are Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes, Kim Fields, Khali Spraggins, Jermelle Simon, Journey Christine, and more.

Created and showrun by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes, the series centers on Bennie Upshaw (Epps), a mechanic and well-intentioned, lifelong mess who leads a Black working-class family in Indianapolis. Across six parts, viewers have watched Bennie juggle the demands of fatherhood, marriage, and the never-ending side-eye of his sister-in-law Lucretia (Sykes), all while trying to elevate his family without any real blueprint for success.

Bennie’s world includes wife Regina (Fields), their daughters (Spraggins and Christine), his oldest son (Simon), and Kelvin (Diamond Lyons), the teenage son he fathered with another woman played by Gabrielle Dennis. And as always, Lucretia remains close by with her signature blend of sarcasm and tough love.

In its final installment, The Upshaws follows the family as they navigate new jobs, health challenges, bigger ambitions, and a few life-changing surprises — proving once more that, even with the chaos, love is the glue holding them together.

Executive producers include Hicks, Sykes, Epps, Page Hurwitz, and Niles Kirchner.

The Upshaws Part 7 premieres January 15, 2026 on Netflix.
