Netflix Renews ‘Funny AF with Kevin Hart’ for Season 2 Amid Emmy Campaign

Netflix has renewed Funny AF with Kevin Hart for a second season, the streamer announced exclusively, with Season 2 expected to arrive in 2027. The renewal comes as both the series and its host are in the midst of Emmy campaigns, with the show up for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Hart nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.

The comedy competition series, which premiered this past April, follows rising stand-up comedians from across the country competing for their shot at becoming a household name, with Hart and a rotating circle of comedy heavyweights helping determine who advances. The season built toward live final rounds with real-time voting from Netflix members, ultimately crowning Detroit-born Ron Taylor as its inaugural winner at Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026. Finalists also included Usama Siddiquee, Caitlin Peluffo and Reg Thomas. Special guests throughout the season included Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, Nikki Glaser, Chris Rock and NFL star Marshawn Lynch.

Season 1 stayed in the Netflix Top 10 for more than three weeks and built on Hart’s considerable footprint at the streamer, where his titles have generated more than 1 billion views over the past two years.

“I’m beyond excited that Funny AF is coming back for Season 2,” Hart said. “This show is all about giving hungry, undiscovered comedians the kind of shot I was chasing when I started out, an uncensored stage, a real audience, and the chance to turn a dream into a career. The response to Season 1 has been incredible, and I can’t wait to get back out there, discover more phenomenal talent, and keep raising the bar for stand-up comedy.”

Funny AF with Kevin Hart is produced by Hartbeat and Alfred Street Industries. Executive producers are Hart, Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Nan Strait and Dan Volpe for Alfred Street Industries, Luke Kelly-Clyne, Meghan Hoffman and Jeff Clanagan for Hartbeat, and Jenny Groom.
