Eddie Horniman doesn’t wait for permission, and neither does Netflix. The Gentlemen has been officially renewed for a third season before Season 2 even launches on September 3, with the first full-length Season 2 trailer dropping today and leaving no doubt that a bigger, grittier chapter of Guy Ritchie’s aristocrats-turned-gangsters saga is on the way.
Creator, writer and director Ritchie will return for Season 3, which he co-writes with Matthew Read and consists of eight episodes. The new season is currently in pre-production with no scripts finalized and no new casting confirmed, despite rumors circulating online.
The trailer finds Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) expanding their criminal empire into the lakeside villas of Italy while Eddie simultaneously rises through the British establishment. American billionaire Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) circles with ambitions of his own as Eddie sets his sights higher than ever. Lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read says Season 2 was always going to be about Eddie expanding the reach of his criminal empire and testing his relationship with Bobby Glass.

Returning for Season 2 are Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass, Harry Goodwins, Joely Richardson, Daniel Ings, Jasmine Blackborow, Vinnie Jones, Esposito, Michael Vu, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley. Joining the cast this season are Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr. and Love Island UK host Maya Jama.
