‘Your Zodiac Watchlist’: Netflix Launches Astrology-Inspired Hub for Every Sign

Netflix is leaning into the stars with a brand-new feature for astrology lovers. The streamer just launched “Your Zodiac Watchlist,” a curated hub that recommends shows and movies based on the traits of each astrological sign.

Launching this past weekend — timed with the start of Virgo season — the hub gives subscribers access to 12 collections, one for each sign, no birthday input required. Anyone can click through the hub and see what Netflix suggests for Scorpios, Leos, Geminis, and beyond.

According to Netflix, the idea is simple: themed collections help members discover something fresh, fun, and timely. “Our team of curators on the member experience team create these themed collections to help members discover something fresh, fun and timely,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

What’s in the Zodiac Watchlist?

The content is tailored to personality traits associated with each sign.

  • Scorpios — considered “passionate, charismatic, and mysterious” — are served mysteries and thrillers like Wednesday, The Night Agent, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Supacell.
  • Geminis — “social, playful, and funny” — get stand-up specials and dialogue-driven comedies.
  • Leos — “confident, generous, and loyal” — are pitched royal and power-centric dramas like The Crown and Bridgerton.
  • Aquarius — tagged as “quirky outsiders” — see sci-fi and space adventures like Rebel Moon.

While the traits might feel like fun stereotypes, the feature banks on curiosity. Even if the picks don’t line up perfectly with your personality, there’s something intriguing about checking out “your list” and seeing if Netflix got it right.

More Than a Gimmick

Astrology has been on a comeback lately, especially among Gen Z, with TikTok and apps fueling the trend. For Netflix, Your Zodiac Watchlist is both a clever gimmick and a strategic way to keep people browsing while also exposing them to shows they may not have considered before.

And it’s not the first time Netflix has used curated hubs to tap into cultural moments. Earlier this summer, the streamer rolled out a “Hope They Don’t End Up on the Kiss Cam” collection filled with steamy dramas after a viral Coldplay concert moment, and “Can I Pull You for a Chat?” inspired by Love Island mania — even though the dating series actually streams on rival Peacock.

At the end of the day, having a Netflix subscription might feel like a “toxic relationship” for some, but the streamer keeps finding new ways to enhance the user experience.
