Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham Are Best Friends on the Run in Prime Video’s ‘Ride or Die’ Trailer

The action comedy series drops all eight episodes on July 15, with Bill Nighy, Ed Skrein, and Sylvia Hoeks rounding out the cast

Prime Video has released the official trailer for Ride or Die, its upcoming action comedy series starring and executive produced by Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, arriving July 15.

The trailer sets the tone immediately. “Deb, I’m an assassin,” Waddingham’s Judith confesses to her lifelong best friend Deb, played by Spencer, while the two are being shot at from a pursuing vehicle. “I kill terrible people.” Deb processes this. “For money,” she says. “Well if I did it for free I’d be a serial killer,” Judith replies. Deb takes the wheel and they floor it.

Created by Tessa Coates, the series follows best friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton, who thought they knew everything about each other until Judith’s secret life as an international assassin comes crashing into both of their worlds. When a mysterious figure from Judith’s past surfaces and a job goes wrong, the two are forced onto the run together across Europe, with law enforcement, trained assassins, and dangerous criminals closing in from every direction.

The supporting cast includes Ed Skrein as Billy, Calam Lynch as Sam, Savannah Steyn as Queenie, Jamie Parker as David, Jacky Ido as Jacques, Sylvia Hoeks as Ana, and Bill Nighy as The Director. Coates, showrunner Matt Miller, and director Peyton Reed all executive produce alongside Spencer and Waddingham. Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, whose credits include the It films, produce through their Double Dream banner alongside Spencer’s Orit Entertainment.

The series is a Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios production. All eight episodes of Ride or Die debut July 15 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
