Prime Video has unveiled the first look at its upcoming action-comedy series Ride or Die, led by and executive produced by Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham. The eight-episode series is set to premiere globally on July 15 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
Created by Tessa Coates, Ride or Die follows longtime best friends Debbie Claybourne (Spencer) and Judith Burton (Waddingham), whose relationship is turned upside down after Debbie discovers Judith has secretly been living a double life as an international assassin.
When a dangerous figure from Judith’s past resurfaces and a mission goes catastrophically wrong, the two are forced to flee across Europe together while being pursued by law enforcement, trained killers, and dangerous criminals. The series blends action, comedy, and a high-stakes road trip adventure as the pair race to stay alive.
The cast also includes Bill Nighy, Ed Skrein, Sylvia Hoeks, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, and Jacky Ido.
Behind the camera, Coates executive produces alongside showrunner Matt Miller and director Peyton Reed. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, Double Dream, and Orit Entertainment.
Ride or Die was first announced during Prime Video’s Upfront presentation last year and officially received its premiere date reveal during Amazon’s 2026 Upfront event in New York City.
Between Octavia Spencer stepping into action-comedy mode and Hannah Waddingham playing a globe-trotting assassin, Ride or Die already feels like one of Prime Video’s more intriguing summer releases.
