Orlando Jones has joined the cast of American Horror Story Season 13. While not confirmed he is rumored to take on the iconic role of Papa Legba, the gatekeeper of the spirit world. The character was originally brought to life by the late Lance Reddick in Coven and Apocalypse. Reddick passed away in March 2023.
The news comes alongside the release of the first teaser for Season 13, which confirms the season as an Avengers-level crossover of the franchise’s most beloved eras. The season premieres Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET on FX and Hulu.
The teaser is anchored by the return of Twisty the Clown, played by John Carroll Lynch, and features Jessica Lange returning as Constance Langdon from Murder House for the first time since 2018’s Apocalypse, Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Evan Peters pulling double duty as both Kai Anderson and Rubber Man, Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie, Jamie Brewer as Addie Langdon, Mena Suvari as Elizabeth Short and Paul Anthony Kelly in a mystery blonde wig role.
The full confirmed cast also includes Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Avantika, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Zach Villa and John Waters.
The season will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. Premiere week and week two will each feature three episodes, followed by two episodes every Thursday through the season finale on October 29.
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ned Martel, Charlie Carver, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Tanase Popa, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Jennifer Salt and Tim Minear executive produce. The series is produced by 20th Television.
