‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 2 Sets Premiere Date, Drops Teaser Trailer

Demigods, get ready. Disney+ has announced that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will premiere December 10, 2025 — and it’s bringing gods, monsters, and even more chaos to Camp Half-Blood.

Unveiled during the show’s panel inside Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, the Season 2 update came with a packed teaser trailer, new character reveals, and even a sneak peek into the future of the franchise.

Based on Rick Riordan’s The Sea of Monsters, Season 2 finds Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) on a high-stakes quest for the Golden Fleece in order to save Camp Half-Blood, which is under attack and under new leadership. Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn) and Tyson (Daniel Diemer), Percy’s newly discovered cyclops half-brother, join Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) on this dangerous journey into the Sea of Monsters.

Executive producer Craig Silverstein summed it up:

“Season 2 is about Percy trying to hold all of his life together as it’s breaking and changing. And that’s your typical middle school experience.”

The teaser offered fans their first look at the season’s action-packed scale. Luke (Charlie Bushnell) brandishes a deadly blade, Clarisse emerges from a ship with warrior energy, and Poseidon warns his son of the war ahead: “Brace yourself, Perseus.” The clip ends with Tyson’s fiery cyclops reveal and a scene of the Gray Sisters teasing Annabeth about her feelings for Percy.

Grammy-winning singer and actress Andra Day joins the cast this season as Athena, goddess of wisdom and mother of Annabeth. Also new to the Season 2 cast are Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace, and Timothy Simons — who also moderated the SDCC panel — as the surly Tantalus. Returning guest stars include Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, and Courtney B. Vance, who steps into the role of Zeus following the passing of Lance Reddick.

One surprise moment during the panel featured a fitting scene for Grover’s wedding dress, a nod to a fan-favorite book moment. While the clip cut before the big reveal, Aryan Simhadri and his castmates shared behind-the-scenes laughs about the shoot — including a fake proposal between him and Scobell.

But the news didn’t stop there. Rick Riordan, appearing via video message, revealed two major additions to Percy Jackson Season 3, which adapts The Titan’s Curse. Joining the cast are Levi Chrisopulos as Nico di Angelo and Olive Abercrombie as Bianca di Angelo, the mysterious children of Hades. Filming for Season 3 is expected to begin soon.

Executive producer Dan Shotz teased just how ambitious this new chapter is:

“Season two is epic. We’re out at sea, on a 175-foot ironclad ship. There are cruise ships, chariot races, massive monsters—it’s so huge, and we cannot wait for you guys to see it.”

Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians debuts December 10, 2025, only on Disney+. Watch the teaser below and let us know which godly moment you’re most excited for.
