Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 Trailer: “Victory Will Require Sacrifice”

The war between the Greek gods and the Titans is looming in the first full-length trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3. The trailer makes clear that in order to save the world from that apocalyptic clash, Percy, played by Walker Scobell, will need all the help he can get, likely meaning he’ll have to join forces with Thalia, daughter of Zeus, played by Tamara Smart, though recruiting her won’t be simple.

The season, based on the third book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Titan’s Curse, centers on Percy and his allies racing to save two demigods, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, the children of Hades, played by Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie. While on that mission, Annabeth, played by Leah Sava Jeffries, is captured by Luke’s forces and taken to an enemy stronghold in California, where she’s forced to bear the weight of the sky in place of the goddess Artemis.

“Victory will require sacrifice,” Zeus warns over the trailer’s climax.

The footage also offers first looks at Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen as Hera, alongside returning cast in new looks, including Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Courtney B. Vance as Zeus, and Adam Copeland as Ares. New additions this season include Jennifer Beals as Demeter, Hubert Smielecki as Apollo, Holt McCallany as the Titan Atlas, David Costabile as Dr. Thorn, Jesse L. Martin as Annabeth’s father Frederick Chase, Dafne Keen as Artemis, and Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade. The trailer also offers a glimpse of Talos, the giant bronze automaton the group encounters in the Junkyard of the Gods.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians was created by Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, who executive produces alongside Dan Shotz, Craig Silverstein, Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, Bert Salke, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Sarah Watson, and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson, with Jet Wilkinson joining as executive producer for the season’s final two episodes.

Season 3 premieres November 20 on Disney+.
