Tracy Morgan’s upcoming NBC comedy pilot just got two new additions! Heist 88 star Precious Way and Till breakout Jalyn Hall are stepping into the mix, joining a powerhouse cast that includes Erika Alexander, Daniel Radcliffe, and Bobby Moynihan.
From the minds of Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means, the yet-to-be-titled comedy follows Morgan as Reggie, a former football star who’s had a spectacular fall from grace. Now, he’s on a mission to rehabilitate his image—but with a no-nonsense ex-wife (Alexander), a nosy documentary filmmaker (Radcliffe), and a fiercely loyal but slightly unhinged former teammate (Moynihan) in his corner, let’s just say it won’t be a smooth ride.
Way is set to play Brina, Reggie’s loving but ambitious fiancée, who sees the documentary following his redemption arc as her own big break. Meanwhile, Hall will take on the role of Carmelo, Reggie and Monica’s teenage son, who has spent his entire life in the shadow of his father’s legendary football career.
Alexander stars as Monica, Reggie’s childhood sweetheart-turned-ex-wife, who’s still his co-parent, agent, and business manager. (Because somebody has to keep him in check.) Radcliffe as Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s mansion to document his comeback. Moynihan as Gator, Reggie’s ever-loyal former teammate who refuses to leave his side—even when things go left.
Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means are executive producing alongside Morgan, Eric Gurian, and David Miner, with Rhys Thomas directing the pilot. Universal Television is producing, with Fey, Carlock, and Means operating under their overall deals at the studio.
With a lineup like this, NBC may have its first comedy pickup of the season. Morgan’s return to network TV, backed by Fey and Carlock, is already shaping up to be a must-watch. If the network gives it the green light, expect plenty of laugh-out-loud moments—and m
