Alex Cross Returns to a More Dangerous Game in ‘Cross’ Season 2 [TRAILER]

Prime Video isn’t easing back into the Cross universe — it’s dropping viewers straight into the fire.

The streamer has unveiled the official trailer and key art for Season 2 of Cross, confirming the hit crime thriller will return February 11, 2026. The new season will debut with three episodes, followed by weekly releases leading up to the March 18 finale, streaming globally in more than 240 countries and territories.

Starring and executive produced by Aldis Hodge, Cross picks up nearly a year after its breakout first season, which pulled in more than 40 million viewers worldwide within its first 20 days, quickly establishing the series as one of Prime Video’s standout thrillers.

Created, written, and showrun by Ben Watkins, and based on characters created by bestselling author James Patterson, the series centers on Alex Cross — a brilliant Washington, D.C. homicide detective and forensic psychologist whose greatest weapon is his ability to think like the people he’s chasing.

Season 2 pushes Cross into darker, more dangerous territory.

This time, the threat comes wrapped in money, power, and public influence. When billionaire business titan Lance Durand (played by Matthew Lillard) contacts the FBI after receiving a chilling death threat — one tied to the murder of a fellow billionaire — Cross is pulled into a joint investigation that quickly spirals beyond standard procedure.

Working alongside FBI Agent Kayla Craig (Alona Tal), Cross tracks a ruthless vigilante who leaves behind carefully staged, gruesome clues while targeting corrupt billionaires. What begins as a protection detail turns into a high-stakes psychological game, forcing Cross to confront not just who the killer is — but why the violence resonates with the public.

Meanwhile, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), Cross’ longtime partner and closest confidant, forms an unexpected connection that threatens to complicate the case and challenge their shared sense of justice.

The newly released trailer leans hard into that tension. “I want justice,” Cross declares, as the pursuit shifts from a traditional manhunt into something far more volatile — a moral reckoning where lines between hero, vigilante, and criminal blur.

Season 2 also expands the Cross universe with new cast members Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham, joining returning ensemble players Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill.

Sharp-eyed viewers will also notice Watkins himself appearing in a recurring role this season — a subtle but intentional move that reinforces how deeply personal the story becomes.

Executive produced by Watkins, Hodge, and a producing team that includes Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa, Cross is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios.

If Season 1 introduced Alex Cross as a formidable presence, Season 2 is about pressure — what happens when justice collides with power, and when the people being hunted may not be entirely wrong.

Cross returns February 11, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
