‘Raising Kanan’ Season 3 Trailer Introduces Us to New Characters Played By Wendell Pierce, Tony Danza, and Erika Woods [TRAILER]

RAISING KANAN SEASON 3

STARZ has dropped the official trailer, character art, and key art for the third season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” The series is set to return on December 1 to continue exploring the origin story of the fan-favorite character Kanan Stark, originally portrayed by 50 Cent in the flagship series. Raising Kana season 3 will delves deeper into his transformation from the devoted son of Raquel “Raq” Thomas, played by Patina Miller, into the ferocious and pragmatic personality fans know from “Power.”

Season three picks up where we left off in Southside Jamaica Queens, with the Thomas family reeling from a coordinated attack by the Mob on Raquel, Marvin, and Lou-Lou. After a close call, Raquel seeks a fresh start, but Kanan remains skeptical about her departure from the criminal world. As the trailer suggests, the truth is elusive, and Kanan has been burned before. The trailer also teases the return of Italian mob boss Stefano, played by Tony Danza, and introduces new adversaries “Snaps” and “Pop,” portrayed by Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods.

The cast includes Omar Epps as “Detective Malcolm Howard,” London Brown as “Marvin Thomas,” Malcolm Mays as “Lou-Lou Thomas,” Hailey Kilgore as “Jukebox,” Joey Bada$$ as “Unique,” Shanley Caswell as “Detective Burke,” and Antonio Ortiz as “Famous,” with Grantham Coleman joining the cast as “Ronnie” this season.

In the previous two seasons of “Raising Kanan,” Kanan Stark gradually uncovered the truth about his mother and himself, leading to a tortuous journey for him and those around him. In season three, Kanan grapples with concepts of right and wrong, good and evil, fidelity and disloyalty, and he’s not alone. Every member of the Thomas family confronts an existential crisis that challenges their identity. Whether it’s Marvin seeking redemption, Raq coming clean, Lou wrestling with his own demons, or Jukebox trying to break free from her family’s legacy, they all attempt to redefine themselves.

“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is part of the expanded “Power” Universe franchise, with Sascha Penn serving as showrunner and executive producer for season three. The series is executive produced by Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, and others. It’s produced by Lionsgate Television for STARZ.

New episodes of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” will be available every Friday at midnight ET on the STARZ app, STARZ streaming platforms, and on-demand services. For linear viewers, the show will debut on STARZ at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.

Fans can’t wait to see how this latest installment of the “Power” saga unfolds when it returns on December 1.
