Prime Video is expanding its ‘Reacher’ universe with a spinoff series focusing on closest ally and partner-in crime-fighting, Frances Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten. According to Deadline, the new series, tentatively titled Neagley, is in fast-track development and is close to receiving a green light from the streaming giant.
The spinoff will spotlight Frances Neagley, a corporate security professional and former military colleague of Jack Reacher from the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. Alan Ritchson, who stars as Jack Reacher in the main series, is expected to make guest appearances, reprising his role in the new project.
Nick Santora, the executive producer and showrunner of Reacher, has teamed up with Nicholas Wootton, known for his work on Prison Break, to develop and co-showrun Neagley. Like its predecessor, the spinoff will be produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. Additional executive producers include Lee Child, the creator of the Jack Reacher novels, Don Granger, Lisa Kussner, and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell. Representatives for Prime Video and the studios have declined to comment.
Frances Neagley was introduced in Season 1 of Reacher and became an integral character in Season 2, based on the novel Bad Luck and Trouble, where she serves as Reacher’s reliable sidekick. The chemistry between Reacher and Neagley has resonated strongly with viewers, so much so that despite her absence in the source material for Season 3—based on Lee Child’s Persuader—the streamer confirmed Maria Sten’s return alongside Ritchson.
The popularity of the Reacher-Neagley duo aligns with the broader success of the Reacher series. Season 2 was the most-watched title on Prime Video globally across both series and movies during its premiere weekend. The show’s audience grew significantly between seasons, reflecting the strong demand for more content from the Reacher universe.
With the spinoff on the horizon, Prime Video seems poised to further capitalize on the momentum of the Reacher franchise, continuing to expand its slate of action-packed dramas that resonate with global audiences.
