Regina Hall is heading to Nantucket.
The O’Dessa star has joined the cast of The Five-Star Weekend, Peacock’s upcoming limited drama series based on Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling novel of the same name. Hall will star alongside Jennifer Garner, who also serves as executive producer on the project.
The series comes from creator and writer Bekah Brunstetter (Maid, This Is Us) and is executive produced by Beth Schacter (Billions), Sue Naegle (Pam & Tommy), Ali Krug (The Staircase), and Hilderbrand herself. It marks another high-profile collaboration under the overall deal between Naegle and Krug’s Dinner Party Productions and Universal Studio Group.
Garner plays Hollis Shaw, a beloved food influencer whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel after a sudden and devastating loss. As grief chips away at her marriage, her relationship with her daughter, and her carefully curated online image, Hollis decides to host a “five-star weekend” at her Nantucket home—inviting friends from every chapter of her life in hopes of rediscovering herself.
Hall takes on the role of Dru-Ann Jones, one of the weekend’s invited guests whose presence is sure to shake things up.
Known for her seamless blend of comedic timing and dramatic depth, Hall’s addition to the cast signals the show will go beyond surface-level self-discovery. She’s been booked and busy, recently starring in O’Dessa and soon appearing in the upcoming films One Battle After Another and the Will Ferrell–Zac Efron comedy Judgment Day. On the small screen, she was most recently seen in Peacock’s The Best Man: The Final Chapters, as well as Nine Perfect Strangers and Black Monday.
With a scenic Nantucket backdrop, personal secrets, and friendship dynamics at its core, The Five-Star Weekend is shaping up to be an emotionally rich series exploring grief, identity, and reinvention.
