The Honest Liar centers around Jackson’s character, Nick DeFranco, an award-winning actor who faces prison time after getting caught in an undercover sting. After criticizing the undercover officers for their poor “acting,” Nick is given an unusual offer by the Police Captain: avoid jail by teaching undercover officers how to act convincingly as criminals. Forced to agree, Nick’s character faces a complex dynamic when he partners with a rookie cop and unintentionally delves deeper into undercover operations, putting both their lives at risk.
Producers Dan Grodnik (Fast Charlie) and Jeffrey Reisner are helming the film under their new production company, Golden Eagle Movie Studios, with Gail Thackray and Tracy Beam serving as executive producers. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.
Grodnik praised Kramer’s storytelling, stating that The Honest Liar “grabbed me from the first page…and ended on a satisfying high note,” emphasizing Jackson’s role as Nick as a key attraction for audiences.
Jackson, Kramer, and co-stars Ramirez and Day are all represented by CAA, with additional agency representation in various other firms.
