Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi is stepping behind the camera for the first time with ‘Doe’, a feature he’s also starring in as the title character. Currently in production in Los Angeles, the film explores addiction and survival through the eyes of a man navigating Hollywood’s streets over a single, life-altering day.
The cast includes Brandon Scott, Brandon Perea, Leah McNamara, and Mark Webber.
‘Doe’ is a gritty, character-driven drama centered on one man’s struggle with addiction and survival.
The film follows a homeless man living on the streets of Hollywood, played by Kid Cudi, over the course of 24 hours. During that single day, he moves through a series of encounters—some fleeting, some impactful—that reflect the highs and lows of his addiction.
Written by Mescudi, ‘Doe’ is a raw, intimate portrayal of compulsion and the human struggle, accompanied by original music from Kid Cudi himself.
Known for his work in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up, Ti West’s X trilogy, and the Emmy-winning Netflix special Entergalactic, Cudi brings years of creative experience to his first feature. His Mad Solar banner, which he runs with Karina Manashil, also produced the film alongside Mark Webber, Anthony Baldino, and Ryan Lacen.
Fans can look forward to seeing Mescudi’s signature artistry on screen, both in performance and in sound, as he continues to expand his multifaceted career.
