Mansa Studios has unveiled the cast for its newest scripted microdrama releases, I Married the King of the Streets and My Twin Sister Stole My Life, which premiered Friday on the Mansa App and through TikTok’s serialized content experience.
I Married the King of the Streets stars Serayah McNeill (Empire, Ruth & Boaz) and Thomas Q. Jones (Being Mary Jane), alongside Shawn Wells and Eren Lenox. The series follows a hardworking woman whose life is upended before she crosses paths with the city’s most dangerous and powerful man, pulling her into a world of crime, passion and revenge as she navigates the line between love and survival.
My Twin Sister Stole My Life stars Nadia Adelay and Lawrence H. Robinson, along with Maurice Johnson and Aspen Kennedy. The psychological identity thriller centers on a woman who wakes from a coma to discover her identical twin has taken over her identity, fiancé, career and future — and must fight to expose the deception and reclaim her life after no one close to her believes her.
The dual premiere builds on Mansa’s expanding mobile-first slate and its distribution partnership with TikTok, which the company struck earlier this year to co-release its original microdramas through TikTok Minis alongside the Mansa App. That partnership previously brought three titles to the platform, including an earlier version of the twin-swap drama, then titled My Twin Sister Stole My Man, as well as The Love Contract.
“Vertical storytelling gives us an opportunity to meet audiences where they are without compromising ambition, craft or cultural specificity,” said Nate Parker, co-founder of Mansa. “We are building premium scripted series with talent audiences know, while creating a platform for emerging voices and stories grounded in the breadth of Black experience.”
“Working with TikTok as a distribution partner allows us to expand discovery, deepen engagement and build new monetization opportunities around this content,” Parker added.
The two new series are part of Mansa’s broader push into vertical storytelling, following its previously announced slate of 10 original microdrama series developed, financed, produced and distributed through the studio’s integrated production model. Co-founded by Parker and David Oyelowo, Mansa launched as an ad-supported streaming platform spotlighting Black content for a global audience and continues to develop film and television projects alongside its microdrama slate, including a theatrical distribution deal with AMC Theatres that brought the long-delayed thriller Newborn to domestic theaters earlier this year.
