Apple TV+ has announced that Shrinking will return for its third season on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, kicking off with a special one-hour premiere. The Emmy-nominated dramedy will roll out new episodes weekly on Wednesdays through April 8, rounding out an 11-episode season.
Created by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs), Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), and Jason Segel, Shrinking follows therapist Jimmy Laird (Segel) as he navigates grief, fatherhood, and unconventional therapy methods that blur ethical lines. His unfiltered approach, coined “Jimmying,” upends both his patients’ lives and his own as he grapples with loss and emotional recovery.
Returning for Season 3 are Harrison Ford as Paul, Jessica Williams as Gaby, Christa Miller as Liz, Luke Tennie as Sean, Michael Urie as Brian, Lukita Maxwell as Alice, and Ted McGinley as Derek. The ensemble will once again balance heart and humor as each character continues their personal evolution.
The new season adds major guest stars, including Jeff Daniels, who joins as Jimmy’s father, and Michael J. Fox, who plays a significant role connected to Paul’s ongoing Parkinson’s storyline. Also appearing this season are Sherry Cola, Isabella Gomez, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, Cobie Smulders, and Brett Goldstein, who reprises his role as Louis Winston.
While Season 2 centered around the theme of forgiveness, the upcoming season explores what it means to move forward. Storylines will focus on the next chapters in each character’s life—from Paul confronting his worsening condition to Brian and Charlie preparing for parenthood, and Alice learning to grow up without her mother’s presence.
Produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions, Shrinking continues to balance poignant emotion with comedic warmth, bolstered by the chemistry of its all-star cast.
