Starz’s hit series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” has announced two new additions to its Season 4 cast: Sibongile Mlambo, known for her roles in “Lost in Space” and “Siren,” and Paul Ben-Victor, recognized from “The Wire” and “The Irishman.”
Mlambo will play Imani Okoye, a smart and confident executive at a boutique record label, while Ben-Victor takes on the role of Phil Russo, Jersey’s new crime boss known for his commanding presence and stoic confidence in business negotiations.
The series, a prequel to the original “Power” series, explores the early life of Kanan Stark, portrayed by Mekai Curtis, as he evolves from a naive teenager to a formidable antagonist. Season 3 showcased a dramatic showdown between Kanan and Raq (Patina Miller), resulting in surprising plot twists and character developments.
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is currently in production in New York for its fourth season, with an early renewal already secured for a fifth season. Sascha Penn returns as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producers Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton.
In addition to the renewal of “Raising Kanan,” Starz announced its development of a new prequel series titled “Origins,” which will delve into the backstory of iconic characters Ghost and Tommy. This marks the fourth spin-off of the immensely popular “Power” series, joining “Power Book II: Ghost” and “Power Book IV: Force.”
In addition to their roles in “Raising Kanan,” Mlambo is known for her recent appearances in Netflix’s “Florida Man” and “Lost in Space,” while Ben-Victor is set to star in Netflix’s “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 3 and the upcoming feature film “Killing Castro.”
The series continues to captivate audiences with its compelling storytelling and talented cast, solidifying its place as a must-watch in the television landscape.
