Apple TV has confirmed that Silo will end with a fourth and final season, with a Summer 2027 release window announced during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel on Saturday. The announcement came alongside the ongoing third season, which premiered July 3 and has already earned a perfect 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
To avoid the multi-year production gaps that have derailed other prestige sci-fi series, the creative team filmed Seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back, meaning the final chapter is already in the can and receiving visual effects work ahead of its premiere next summer. Star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson has described an emotional goodbye to the underground compound, and teased that the final season will answer the show’s biggest mysteries.
“Season 1 was the hook, Season 2 expands the scope, and Seasons 3 and 4 will answer every single question about how the silo was built, why it exists, and what lies beyond the horizon,” Ferguson said.
Based on Hugh Howey’s acclaimed trilogy, the four-season arc is structured as a complete and faithful adaptation. Season 1 drew from Wool, Season 2 expanded the world, and Season 3 splits its timeline to introduce the crucial prequel elements from Shift. Season 4 will adapt Dust, the trilogy’s explosive conclusion.
Since its debut in May 2023, Silo has been one of Apple TV’s most dominant series, holding a place in the streamer’s US top ten for over 500 days. The show follows a community of ten thousand people living inside a massive underground silo hundreds of stories deep, governed by strict regulations and taught that the outside world is toxic and deadly. Juliette Nichols, an engineer turned revolutionary played by Ferguson, has driven the series forward with her relentless search for the truth.
The Comic-Con panel was moderated by Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz and featured showrunner Graham Yost, Ferguson, Common, Tim Robbins, Ashley Zukerman, Jessica Henwick and Alexandria Riley.
The ensemble cast includes Ferguson alongside Common as Sims, Tim Robbins as Bernard Holland, Harriet Walter as Martha Walker, Chinaza Uche as Paul Billings, Avi Nash as Lukas Kyle and Rick Gomez as Patrick Kennedy. Yost serves as showrunner with Howey, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum and David Semel executive producing.
Six episodes remain in Season 3. Silo Season 4 premieres Summer 2027 on Apple TV.
