‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Crosses $2 Billion Globally, Becoming the Eighth Film in History to Hit the Milestone

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed the $2 billion mark at the global box office, reaching the milestone in 17 days and becoming only the eighth film in history to ever do so. The Destin Daniel Cretton-directed film now stands as the third MCU film to cross $2 billion, joining Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which holds the all-time record at $2.79 billion.

The film’s current worldwide tally stands at $2.022 billion, broken out as $785.8 million domestically and $1.236 billion internationally. Domestically, that places it fourth on the all-time list, having already surpassed Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar. Globally it has also overtaken Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $1.9 billion total after fewer than 20 days of release.

The film’s third weekend delivered $188.7 million globally, with $70 million domestically representing the second-best third weekend in box office history behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Internationally the film earned $118.7 million across 67 markets, with China leading the weekend at $10 million for a running cume of $210 million.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing release ever in 36 international markets including India, Italy, Spain, Turkey, the Philippines and Vietnam among others.

Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, Jon Bernthal and Sadie Sink, the film holds an 89 percent critics score and a 98 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Next on its all-time global hit list are Titanic and the Chinese blockbuster Ne Zha 2.
