Prime Video and MGM+’s highly anticipated series Spider-Noir is less than three weeks away from its premiere and the hype is building. Today, Milan Records debuted the official theme song “Saving Grace,” performed by southern soul singer-songwriter KIRBY and produced by Oak Felder.
The track serves as the main title theme for the series and sets the tone for the shadowy, noir world of 1930s New York. KIRBY’s soulful vocals paired with jazz-tinged instrumentation evoke the classic noir cinema sound that the show is built around.
Along with the song, the official music video has also dropped, featuring a mix of footage from the series, storyboard-style animation, and original scenes. The video showcases both the “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color” formats that viewers will be able to choose from when watching the series.
“Saving Grace” is the lead single from the Spider-Noir Official Soundtrack, which also features an original score by composers Kris Bowers and Michael Dean Parsons. The full soundtrack drops May 27th and is available to preorder now.
Based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Noir is a live-action series that follows Ben Reilly, a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero. The series reimagines the iconic Marvel character through a classic noir lens, blending superhero action with the moody atmosphere of golden age detective fiction.
Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage leads the cast as Ben Reilly, reprising the role he voiced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse. He is joined by Emmy Award-winning actor Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, a dedicated journalist navigating 1930s New York with the odds stacked against him. Li Jun Li stars as Cat Hardy, the star attraction at New York’s premiere nightclub whose motivations run deeper than they appear. Karen Rodriguez plays Janet, Ben’s sharp and loyal secretary who has no problem speaking truth to power. Rounding out the main cast are Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Brendan Gleeson.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series was developed by co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot alongside the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer, known for Fleabag and Killing Eve, directed and executive produced the first two episodes.
Spider-Noir premieres May 25th on MGM+’s linear channel and globally on Prime Video May 27th across more than 240 countries and territories.
