Paramount+ has unveiled the teaser trailer for its upcoming original movie ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ during the ‘Star Trek’ universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The film made a significant impact in Hall H, featuring appearances from cast members Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson, and Kacey Rohl, along with executive producer Alex Kurtzman and director Olatunde Osunsanmi. The panel included a special video “interruption” from the movie’s star, Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, who introduced the teaser.
The trailer provides a first look at Section 31’s ensemble in action, introducing Miku Martineau as the younger Philippa Georgiou, portrayed by Yeoh.
The classified teaser began with a pale-yellow title card that read, “This Preview Contains Misfit Content As Determined By Starfleet Common Media Division: Colorful Metaphors, Disintegration, Deltan Fraternizing, Reference To Unauthorized The Jumps.”
With Beyoncé’s “Formation” playing in the background, the two-minute preview revealed a series of flashbacks showcasing the brutal rise of a young Philippa Georgiou (Martineau) through the ranks of the Mirror Universe’s Terran Empire to become its feared Emperor.
