Paramount Pictures is journeying into the dance culture with “Get Lite,” featuring Storm Reid in the lead role. Directed by Teyana Taylor in her directorial debut, the film blends pulsating beats with heartfelt storytelling.

Reid, renowned for her captivating performances in projects like HBO’s “The Last Of Us,” is not only set to star but will also take on a producing role through her banner, A Seed & Wings Productions. Joining her in production duties are industry heavyweights Kenya Barris and Bill Karesh, among others.

The narrative centers on a diligent teenager from New York City whose life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a magnetic beatmaker, portrayed by Reid. As he delves deeper into the world of Litefeet dance, he grapples with the choice between following a conventional academic path or embracing his passion for dance.

For Taylor, a native of Harlem and a trailblazer in the world of choreography and dance, “Get Lite” marks a significant milestone as she ventures into directing, drawing from her own roots and experiences. Having already made waves in music, acting, and producing, Taylor’s foray into directing underscores her multifaceted talent and creative vision.

Reid, on the other hand, continues to ascend as one of Hollywood’s most promising young stars, with accolades including an Emmy award for her standout performance in “The Last Of Us.” Her involvement in “Get Lite” adds another layer to her diverse body of work, following her recent appearance in Warner Bros.’ “The Nun 2.”
