The Daria spinoff series Jodie and it has found a home on Comedy Central. Tracee Ellis Ross is voicing Jodie as well as executive producing the series. Grace Edwards created and wrote the series that will star Jodie Landon, a friend of Daria's from the original series. Jodie has since graduated from the fictional Lawndale High and is now graduating from college and enters the lousy world of adults. The series will satirize workplace culture, Gen Z struggles, the artifice of social media, and more. With themes of empowerment along with gender and racial lines, explorations of privilege, and a wicked sense of humor, Jodie will shine a light on the personal and professional issues young Black women face today. While still created by MTV Studios Jodie will be paired with Comedy Central's flagship series, South Park. ViacamCBS Entertainment owns both Comedy Central and MTV. Jodie also marks the first MTV Studios series for Comedy Central as the brands are forging closer ties under Viacom. It was one of the projects on the inaugural slate of MTV Studios when it launched in 2018. It has been envisioned as one of several Daria spinoffs. There's no word, yet, on when the show will air.
