Audible and Broadway Video Enterprises today announced two new original comedy podcasts with the first one starring Taraji P. Henson and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Titled ‘Stranded,’ the first of the two podcasts, is a laugh-out-loud comedy that follows longtime best friends Janet (voiced by Ross) and Serena (voiced by Henson) as their dream girls’ trip takes a disastrous turn. When their party boat crashes, the duo finds themselves stranded on a deserted Caribbean cay, forced to rely on each other for survival. The podcast, created and directed by Chris Bruno and David Howard Lee with writing by Shukri R. Abdi, promises a hilarious and heartwarming adventure.

Joining Henson and Ross in the “Stranded” cast is an impressive ensemble including Lamorne Morris, Jay Ellis, Tim Robinson, Taye Diggs, Whoopi Goldberg, Larry Wilmore, Keith David, Ashley Nicole Black, Mikey Day, Zazie Beetz, Nicole Byer, Phylicia Rashad, and Phil LaMarr.

“Joining forces with Tracee Ellis Ross and our hilarious ensemble cast on ‘Stranded’ has been a dream,” said Henson. “I’m excited to share this laugh-out-loud, sidesplitting story with Audible listeners everywhere.”

The second podcast, “The Best Man’s Ghostwriter,” stars Glen Powell as Nate, a speechwriter hired to help men craft the perfect best man speeches. The podcast explores the often-hilarious and awkward world of male friendship through the eyes of Nate and one of his clients, Dan, voiced by Nicholas Braun. Written and directed by comedian Matthew Star, a former real-life best man’s ghostwriter, the podcast offers a fresh and comedic take on the classic wedding trope.

The “The Best Man’s Ghostwriter” cast also boasts a talented ensemble including Ashley Park, D’Arcy Carden, Lance Bass, Zach Braff, Lukas Gage, Alex Wolff, Debra Messing, George Takei, Jack McBrayer, Nicole Byer, Zach Cherry, Lennon Parham, Neil Flynn, Jason Mantzoukas, Ben Marshall, John Higgins, Martin Herlihy, Jonathan Van Ness, and Sherri Shepherd.

“Bringing ‘The Best Man’s Ghostwriter’ to life was a blast,” said Powell. “I wanted to produce a heartfelt and hilarious story about the highest stakes moment for any friendship…the best man’s speech. And even better I got to act alongside my most talented friends.”

Both “Stranded” and “The Best Man’s Ghostwriter” join a growing slate of scripted original comedy series at Audible, including “Hot White Heist” starring Bowen Yang, “Hit Job” starring Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson, and “Escape From Virtual Island” starring Paul Rudd, Jack McBrayer, Amber Ruffin, and Paula Pell.

“Stranded” launches on November 7, and “The Best Man’s Ghostwriter” debuts on September 12.
