Tasha Smith is the latest talent to be added to the ensemble cast of Twinless, an upcoming dark comedy written and directed by James Sweeney for Republic Pictures.
Joining her are Chris Perfetti (Abbott Elementary), François Arnaud (Yellowjackets), Susan Park (Shining Vale), and Cree (Turtles All the Way Down). These actors will share the screen with previously announced cast members Dylan O’Brien, Aisling Franciosi, and Lauren Graham. Sweeney, the film’s writer and director, will also take on a role in the project. Twinless centers on the story of two young men who form an unexpected friendship after meeting in a support group for those grieving the loss of a twin.

Details about the roles of the newly announced cast members remain undisclosed. Twinless marks Sweeney’s second feature following his acclaimed directorial debut, Straight Up, which earned him a Best First Screenplay nomination at the 2021 Independent Spirit Awards.
The film is being produced by David Permut and Sweeney, with Dylan O’Brien and Miky Lee serving as executive producers. Financing is provided by Three Point Capital, with Ali Jazayeri, David Gendron, and Liz Destro also on board as executive producers. Alex Astrachan, Director of Development at Permut Presentations, is attached as a co-producer. Republic Pictures holds the worldwide rights to the film.
