“I am elated to make my theatrical debut with ‘Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love.’ This film represents everything Undaunted Content stands for—fearlessly telling the beautiful love story of a seasoned Black woman dealing with relatable real-life issues. I was able to do so with a team of strong Black women: executive producer Beauvais, director Tailiah Breon, writer Tamara T. Gregory, and producer Artisha Mann-Cooper. You can’t get any better than this,” said executive producer D’Angela Proctor.
This film falls under McMillan’s current partnerhsip with Lifetime to executive produce a series of original movies under the banner “Terry McMillan Presents.” Widely acclaimed for her bestsellers like “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” and “Waiting to Exhale,” McMillan’s collaboration with Lifetime will focus on portraying the love and lives of Black women, aligning with the network’s 40th-anniversary celebration.
The film is executive produced by Beauvais and Proctor for Undaunted Content, in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. McMillan and Beauvais also serve as executive producers alongside Richard Foster and Chet Fenster from GroupM Motion Entertainment. Taliah Breon directs the movie from a script written by Tamara T. Gregory.
This project is also part of Beauvais’s ongoing partnership with Lifetime, which was announced in April. The collaboration includes the production of three new original movies that Beauvais will executive produce. This partnership builds on their previous success, particularly the critically acclaimed film Black Girl Missing.
