“The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” delves into the story of a U.S. naval first officer facing a mutiny trial after his captain’s erratic behavior endangers the lives of the crew.

At the heart of the naval court-martial is the skeptical naval lawyer Barney Greenwald, portrayed by Jason Clarke, who takes on the defense case of Lt. Steve Maryk, played by Jake Lacy. Lt. Maryk stands accused of taking control of the U.S.S. Caine from its domineering captain, Lt. Philip Francis Queeg, portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland, during a violent storm in hostile waters.

As the trial unfolds, Greenwald becomes embroiled in uncovering the truth behind the events aboard the vessel. He raises critical questions about whether the actions were indeed a mutiny or simply acts of courage by sailors who had lost faith in their unstable captain.

This adaptation of Wouk’s classic work has a rich history, with previous screen versions in 1954 and 1988. The film is produced by Annabelle Dunne and Matt Parker, with Michael Salven and Mike Upton serving as executive producers under the distribution of Paramount Global Content Distribution.
