Peacock and Sky have unveiled a tantalizing first look trailer at their new series, ‘The Day of the Jackal,’ starring Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, and Úrsula Corberó. The teaser was revealed during NBC and Peacock’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, captivating audiences with a glimpse of the gripping narrative to come.
Set to premiere on November 7, ‘The Day of the Jackal’ will be available on Peacock in the U.S. and Sky in the U.K. The series is a contemporary adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s novel and the 1973 film from Universal. It centers on the Jackal (Redmayne), an elusive and unparalleled assassin who executes high-stakes hits for top dollar.
Following a recent kill, the Jackal finds himself pursued by a relentless British intelligence officer (Lynch), leading to a high-octane chase across Europe. This reimagined version plunges into the current geo-political climate, exploring the chameleon-like nature of the anti-hero in more depth.

The cast also features Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara who stars as Lynch’s daughter.
The series boasts a stellar creative team, with ‘Top Boy’ creator Ronan Bennett serving as writer and showrunner. Brian Kirk, known for his work on ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Luther,’ will direct the series. It is produced by Carnival Films, the studio behind ‘Downton Abbey,’ under the umbrella of Universal International Studios.
Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant are executive producers for Carnival Films, with Sam Hoyle representing Sky Studios. Redmayne and Lynch also serve as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Sue Naegle, Marianne Buckland, and Frederick Forsyth, the latter as a consulting producer. Christopher Hall is the producer, with Emily Shapland as co-producer.
