One Last Court Case: Netflix’s ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ to End With Fifth Season

The Lincoln Lawyer is coming to a close. Netflix has confirmed that the fifth season of the legal drama, currently in production in Los Angeles, will be its last. The 10-episode final season is based on Michael Connelly’s novel Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in his Lincoln Lawyer series.

The season finds Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) shaken by the arrival of Emi (Cobie Smulders), a half-sister he never knew he had, who asks him to help free a woman wrongfully convicted of murder six years earlier. As Mickey digs deeper into the case, the forces working against him grow more dangerous, and he is forced to confront the complicated legacy of both the family he chose and the family he never knew. Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson also return, with their characters facing significant challenges of their own.

Six new recurring guest stars have been announced for the final season: Amy Aquino as Judge Olivia Alcott, Angela Trimbur as Felicia, Elpidia Carrillo as Muriel Perez, Nate Corddry as Jimmy Finch, Tricia Helfer as Brooke Miller and Keir O’Donnell as DDA Lucas Peralta. They join previously announced additions Chris Diamantopoulos, Corbin Bernsen, Diane Guerrero and others, along with returning guest stars Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria and Gigi Zumbado.

Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said the decision to end the show on their own terms was meaningful. “From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion,” they said in a joint statement. “We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves.”

The series was created for television by David E. Kelley and is produced by A+E Studios. Since launching in 2022, its first four seasons have drawn 171 million views on Netflix and have contributed an estimated $425 million to the California economy.

A premiere date for Season 5 has not yet been announced.
