BET+ Renews ‘The Ms. Pat Show’ for Season 5 as Ms. Pat Expands Deal with BET Media Groupx

BET+ has confirmed that The Ms. Pat Show, its popular comedy series, will return for a fifth season. The announcement also revealed that Patricia ‘Ms. Pat’ Williams has extended her overall deal with BET Media Group to cover both linear and streaming projects.

Williams will be joined by returning series regulars J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briyana Guadalupe, Theodore John Barnes, and Brittany Inge. The show, based on Williams’ life and her memoir Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, follows the story of a former drug dealer and convicted felon who transitions into life as a suburban mom. The series blends humor with unfiltered commentary, depicting a multi-generational Black family navigating complex cultural dynamics.

Since signing a multi-year deal with BET in 2022, Williams has expanded her creative footprint within the network. Her first project under this agreement, the unscripted courtroom series Ms. Pat Settles It, premiered its second season in July.

Created by Williams and Jordan E. Cooper, The Ms. Pat Show explores challenging and often controversial topics, such as non-binary pronouns, abortion, Black hair, school shootings, drug addiction, racism, and child abuse. With its candid approach to taboo topics, the series has resonated deeply with audiences, providing a source of healing for viewers and Williams alike.

Executive producers returning for season five include Williams, Jordan E. Cooper, Patrick Walsh, Lee Daniels, Brian Grazer, Deb Evans, Jon Radler, and Natalie Berkus. Emmy-nominated director Mary Lou Belli will continue to direct episodes, bringing her unique vision to the series. Rose Catherine Pinkney will serve as co-executive producer for BET+. Produced by Imagine Television, DaeLight Media, and Lee Daniels Entertainment, The Ms. Pat Show remains a groundbreaking series that offers a fresh take on the traditional sitcom format.
