Netflix’s hit sitcom The Upshaws is gearing up for its penultimate season, Part 6, set to premiere globally on January 9, 2025. Joining the returning ensemble cast are Phil Morris, Cynthia Bailey, and Nene Leakes, who bring new energy to the beloved series. “In this upcoming part, the Upshaws continue to ride life’s ups and downs, including new jobs, bigger dreams, health struggles, and some major life surprises—but still hanging on with the love that comes with family.”
This season comprises ten episodes, written by a talented team led by co-showrunners and creators Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes. Additional writers include Annie Levine, Jonathan Emerson, Devon Shepard, and more. Hicks and Sykes also serve as executive producers alongside Mike Epps, Page Hurwitz, and Niles Kirchner.
Part 6 marks the start of the show’s concluding chapters. Netflix previously announced that The Upshaws would end with Part 7, set to include 12 episodes and bring the series’ total to 60. Production for the final episodes began in November 2024 and is scheduled to wrap in March 2025. While no release date has been set for Part 7, fans can expect it to debut later in 2025.
Reflecting on the series finale, Wanda Sykes shared, “A heartfelt thanks to Netflix for letting us send off The Upshaws with this fifth and final season. We’re excited to give the show and the fans a proper farewell.”
