New Trailer and Poster Released for DreamWorks Animation’s Upcoming Film ‘The Wild Robot’

Prepare to be enchanted by DreamWorks Animation’s latest offering, “The Wild Robot,” set to debut in theaters on September 27. The film is an adaptation of Peter Brown’s award-winning, bestselling novel that has captivated readers since its publication.

‘The Wild Robot’ tells the story of Roz (Lupita Nyong’o), a ROZZUM unit 7134 robot who finds herself shipwrecked on a deserted island. As she navigates her new environment, Roz learns to survive by forming unexpected bonds with the island’s wildlife, ultimately becoming a surrogate mother to an orphaned gosling.

Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Pedro Pascal lends his voice to Fink the fox, while Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara voices Pinktail the opossum. The cast is rounded out by Oscar® nominee Bill Nighy as Longneck the goose, Kit Connor as Brightbill the gosling, and Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, another robot that Roz encounters on her journey.

The film also features voice performances from Ving Rhames, Mark Hamill, and Matt Berry.

“The Wild Robot” is directed and written by three-time Oscar® nominee Chris Sanders, known for his work on “How to Train Your Dragon,” “The Croods,” and Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch.” The film is produced by Jeff Hermann, whose credits include “The Boss Baby 2: Family Business” and the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise.

Peter Brown’s “The Wild Robot,” first published in 2016, quickly became a New York Times bestseller and led to a trilogy with “The Wild Robot Escapes” and “The Wild Robot Protects.” Brown has received numerous accolades for his work, including a Caldecott Honor, a Horn Book Award, and multiple E.B. White Awards.

“The Wild Robot” aims to provide a thoughtful exploration of the intersection between technology and nature, and what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.
