The groundbreaking dystopian anthology series Black Mirror is set to return for its seventh season in 2025, bringing with it an impressive roster of new and returning stars. Among the 19 fresh additions to the cast are Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, and Rashida Jones.
This upcoming season will feature six episodes, including a highly anticipated sequel to “USS Callister,” a standout episode from season 4. The original episode, which earned critical acclaim for its sharp satire and exploration of technological obsession, starred Jesse Plemons as Robert Daly—a programmer who seeks revenge on his colleagues by trapping digital clones of them in a simulated space adventure. The episode, co-written by series creator Charlie Brooker and William Bridges and directed by Toby Haynes, also featured performances by Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel, and Cristin Milioti.
Joining Ellis Ross, Rae, and Jones in the cast are Awkwafina, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Osy Ikhile, Siena Kelly, Billy Magnussen, Rosy McEwen, Chris O’Dowd, Paul G. Raymond, and Harriet Walter. Notably, Cristin Milioti and Jimmi Simpson will reprise their roles from the previous season.
Created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, Black Mirror continues to delve into the dark underbelly of modern technology and societal norms. Each episode presents a standalone narrative set in a near-future world with eerie parallels to contemporary reality. Brooker, along with executive producers Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones, remains at the helm, with Broke & Bones production banner continuing to produce and Banijay Rights handling distribution.
As production continues, details about the characters the new cast members will portray remain under wraps.
