Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer Join Michael B. Jordan in Skydance Animated Film ‘Swapped’

During its Next on Netflix 2026 presentation, the streamer confirmed that Swapped—its second major animated feature from Skydance Animation—will debut sometime in 2026, with industry chatter pointing toward a spring release, though no official date has been locked in yet. Alongside that confirmation, Netflix revealed two new voice cast additions: Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer.

Morgan will voice a character named Boogle, while Cedric the Entertainer lends his voice to Caloo. First-look stills featuring both characters were also unveiled, giving audiences an early glimpse at the film’s vibrant world. They join previously announced leads Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple, who anchor the story.

Formerly titled Pookoo, Swapped is described as a buddy comedy set in a wild ecosystem known as The Valley. The film centers on a small woodland creature (voiced by Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Temple)—natural enemies who suddenly find themselves trapped in each other’s bodies. Forced to navigate life “in each other’s feathers and fur,” the unlikely duo must work together to survive what becomes the wildest adventure of their lives.

The film is directed by Nathan Greno, whose credits include Tangled, and features a script by John Whittington alongside writing partners Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow. Producing are John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews for Skydance Animation and Netflix.

Speaking on the project, Greno described Swapped as “an unpredictable, emotional ride—full of humor, spectacle, and heart,” noting that the team drew inspiration from live-action nature documentaries to ground the film’s world in something that feels both vibrant and deeply human.

Clocking in at 1 hour and 38 minutes, Swapped is rated PG for action, peril, and some scary images. With a stacked voice cast, striking animation, and a classic body-swap twist set against a nature-driven backdrop, the film is shaping up to be a standout addition to Netflix’s 2026 lineup.
