Jax Stewart is back in the fight, and this time, she may be fighting for her life.
Hulu has released the Season 4 trailer for Reasonable Doubt, and the new footage reveals that Jax (Emayatzy Corinealdi) has been shot, raising one major question ahead of the season’s October 6 premiere: is she still alive?
Season 4 picks up in the aftermath of Season 3’s explosive finale, a brutal attack that left both Jax’s family and The Stewart Firm shaken. That previous season also tackled storylines involving child actor abuse, racial microaggressions in the workplace, and abuse of power. Now, with the firm barely on its feet and already under siege, a media firestorm surrounding one of Jax’s most loyal clients threatens to pull everything apart before it can be rebuilt. As grief settles in and pressure mounts, Jax is forced to ask whether moving forward is even possible, or whether pushing too hard will cost her everything she’s built.
Corinealdi returns alongside series regulars McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, and Angela Grovey. The season adds two new series regulars: R&B singer, actor, and podcaster Durrell “Tank” Babbs as Eric Cropper, a wealthy recording artist and longtime client of Jax’s accustomed to getting his way, and Meagan Good as Regina Harris, a new district attorney who’s compassionate but nobody’s fool.
Joining in recurring roles are La La Anthony as Eric’s first wife, Melina Cropper; Taylor Polidore Williams (Beauty in Black) as his second wife, Brooke; DeVaughn Nixon as Eric’s younger brother; Rutina Wesley as entertainment journalist Desiree Grant; and Alexxis Lemire in a role yet to be disclosed. Morris Chestnut, Joseph Sikora, and Brandee Evans return as guest stars reprising their previous roles.
Created and executive produced by Raamla Mohamed Hunter, Reasonable Doubt is also executive produced by Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone under Simpson Street, alongside Larry Wilmore, Tamara Gregory, Anton Cropper, Lena Cordina, and Erika L. Johnson. Shawn Holley, Jon Leshay, and Zahir McGhee serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced by 20th Television under Disney Television Studios.
Reasonable Doubt Season 4 premieres October 6 on Hulu with three episodes, with new episodes streaming weekly on Tuesdays.
