Paramount+ has unveiled the trailer for the forthcoming Taylor Sheridan anthology series, “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” which is scheduled to premiere on November 5.
The series boasts a stellar cast including David Oyelowo, Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland, and Dennis Quaid.

“Lawmen: Bass Reeves” narrates the remarkable journey of Bass Reeves (portrayed by David Oyelowo), who rose from enslavement to become the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi. Over the course of his career, Reeves arrested more than 3,000 outlaws. However, the burden of his badge weighed heavily on him, and he grappled with the moral and spiritual toll it took on his beloved family.
Guest stars in the series include Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund, while recurring roles feature Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Grantham Coleman, Tosin Morohunfola, Dale Dickey, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley, and Bill Dawes.

The anthology format of the show will continue in future seasons, exploring different iconic lawmen and outlaws who have left their mark on history.
David Oyelowo, in addition to his role in the series, serves as an executive producer. The creative force behind the series is Chad Feehan, who also created the character of Bass Reeves and serves as the showrunner. Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Jessica Oyelowo, David Permut, Christina Alexandra Voros, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and David Hutkin are among the other executive producers.
“Lawmen: Bass Reeves” is a joint production by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, and Oyelowo’s Yoruba Saxon. Paramount Global Content Distribution will handle distribution outside of Paramount+ international markets.
