Tyler Perry Assembles Gospel and Music Powerhouses for Netflix Holiday Drama ‘The Gospel of Christmas’

Netflix has officially revealed the cast for Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas, a new holiday drama set to debut in 2026 as part of the streamer’s newly announced slate.

The film brings together an impressive lineup of gospel icons and powerhouse vocalists, including Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Fantasia Barrino, Tank, Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters, Smokie Norful, Ann Nesby, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Ja’Kalyn Carr, and Dax.

Written and directed by Tyler Perry, The Gospel of Christmas centers on a struggling pastor who inherits his family’s church in a broken New York neighborhood. As he grapples with doubt, temptation, and a looming adversary, he must rediscover his faith and the power of prayer to save his church, his family, and his community before Christmas.

The film is produced by Perry alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland under the Tyler Perry Studios banner.

The Gospel of Christmas is one of several Tyler Perry Studios projects headed to Netflix in 2026. The slate also includes ’Tis So Sweet, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2, and Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip.

With its faith-driven story and a cast deeply rooted in gospel music and spiritual storytelling, Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most distinctive holiday releases of 2026.
