The Oval is officially coming to an end. BET has dropped the trailer and confirmed that Tyler Perry’s political drama will return for its seventh and final season on Tuesday, May 20, with new episodes rolling out weekly through September 30.
The final season will premiere on Paramount+ at 12 AM PT/3 AM ET, followed by its linear debut on BET at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT the same day. The 22-episode run marks the show’s longest season yet as it closes out the Franklin family’s chaotic grip on power.
In Season 7, the Franklins are back in the White House with one goal: reclaim control at any cost. As Hunter and Victoria launch their “Make The Franklins Great Again” campaign amid national crisis and collapsing alliances, the biggest threat to their legacy turns out to be closer than they ever expected.
The series stars The Oval with Ed Quinn, Kron Moore, Javon Johnson, Ptosha Storey, Daniel Croix Henderson, Lodric Collins, Walter Fauntleroy, Taja V. Simpson, Brad Benedict, Travis Cure, Bill Barrett, Nick Barrotta, Kaye Singleton, and Russell Thomas.
From Tyler Perry Studios, the final season is executive-produced by Tyler Perry, written by Mark E. Swinton, and directed by Armani Ortiz.
The announcement also comes as BET continues to expand its Tyler Perry programming slate across platforms, with the series also streaming same-day on Paramount+.
With its final chapter set, The Oval is closing out one of BET’s most consistent drama runs, ending the Franklins’ White House saga on a season built around power, betrayal, and survival.
