Bel-Air SEASON 3 Vic Mensa and Alycia Pascual-Peña

Vic Mensa and Alycia Pascual-Peña have joined the cast of Peacock’s Bel-Air for its upcoming Season 3. Mensa will portray Quentin while Pascual-Peña takes on the role of Amira in recurring capacities.

Bel-Air, a modern-day reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, follows the journey of Will (played by Jabari Banks) from the streets of West Philadelphia to the affluent neighborhood of Bel-Air, Los Angeles. The series explores themes of second chances and societal complexities through a contemporary lens, inspired by Morgan Cooper’s viral trailer that re-envisioned the ’90s sitcom.

Alongside Banks, the ensemble cast includes Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones. Justin Cornwell, Karrueche Tran, and Joivan Wade will also reprise their roles in Season 3.

Bel-Air Season 2, concluding on April 27, 2023, explored the aftermath of Season 1’s revelation about Will’s father, Lou, being incarcerated. Will grappled with trust issues, seeking guidance from Doc Hightower, a mentor with questionable intentions. Phil faced complications when kissed by colleague Erika, causing tension with Vivian. Vivian’s career took a turn as she became the executive director of the Neeman Fellowship.

Romantic entanglements included Ashley’s budding romance and Jazz’s struggles with Hilary, finding solace in ex-boyfriend Lamarcus. The Founders Award ceremony featured Carlton’s admission of drug addiction. The finale concluded with an optimistic outlook from Will, hoping for a better senior year for himself, his cousins, and friends.

“What’s summer like in Bel-Air anyway?” he asks Lisa. “Oh, you have no idea,” she responds with a smile, and we get the needle drop of all needle drops: “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. Looks like Bel-Air season 3 is going to show us the magic of a Bel-Air summer. Time to sit back and unwind.

Carla Banks Waddles serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, alongside a team including Morgan Cooper, Malcolm Spellman, Will Smith, and others. The series is produced by Universal Television and Westbrook Studios.

Bel-Air’s Season 3 renewal in March 2023 marked a historic moment for Peacock as its first scripted series to receive a third season. The decision was influenced by the show’s popularity and critical acclaim, with the first two seasons garnering significant viewership and positive reception.

Mensa, known for his work in music and acting, recently appeared in Showtime’s The Chi and the comedy series South Side. Pascual-Peña’s credits include Netflix’s Neon and CBS’s The Neighborhood, as well as Peacock’s Saved by the Bell revival.
