Hosea Chanchez, Richard Lawson and More Star in Michael Perez-Lindsey’s Directorial Debut ‘Will I See You Again?’ [TRAILER]

Michael Perez-Lindsey makes his directorial debut with the short film ‘Will I See You Again?’, a poignant exploration of reconciliation and the necessity of confronting the past.

The film’s cast includes Hosea Chanchez (‘The Game’) who is also an executive producer, Nick Wechsler (‘Revenge’, ‘Shades of Blue’), Richard Lawson (‘Tyler Perry’s Divorce In The Black’), Anna Maria Horsford, and Rosanny Zayas (‘The L Word: Generation Q’).

The film follows Max Palmer (Chanchez), a pastor and community leader in Lexington, Kentucky, faces a crossroads amidst a divorce and questions about his sexuality. His past resurfaces when Paul (Nick Wechsler), his estranged former teammate and secret ex-lover from college, returns for their late friend Jim’s (Robert Okumu) estate hearing. To claim their inheritance, they must confront their past relationship and undergo a polygraph test, forcing them to address unresolved issues.

Naomi Walley, Robert Okumu, Whitney Morgan Cox round out the cast.

Director Michael Perez-Lindsey shared, “As a queer Mexican American man, my aim as a director is to tell stories that bring marginalized perspectives to the forefront. There are many powerful narratives that live hidden in the experience of the underrepresented.”

The film is written and executive produced by Rhett Lindsey with contributions from Perez-Lindsey. ‘Will I See You Again’ will premiere at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival from August 8th-18th in Los Angeles, CA. It is also an official selection at the BronzeLens Film Festival, which is also an Oscar Qualifying film festival.

Alongside Chanchez, executive Producers include Rhett Lindsey, Michael Perez-Lindsey, Joseph Richards, William Mehserle Jr., Cornell Verdeja-Woodson, and Navid Hamid.
