ABC’s Scrubs revival is heading into its second season with some cast changes. Joel Kim Booster and X Mayo, who played Dr. Kevin Park and Nurse Raymond respectively in Season 1, will not be returning. At the same time, Ava Bunn, who played intern Sam Tosh, has been promoted to series regular.
Bunn joins original series stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison as regulars for the upcoming season, which is set to premiere this fall with 10 episodes currently in production.
The rest of the intern class returns in recurring roles, including Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi and Amanda Morrow. Vanessa Bayer and Rachel Bilson also return as recurring players, with Bilson reprising her role as Charlie, J.D.’s newly introduced love interest. Original cast members John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn and Robert Maschio will recur, while Christa Miller returns as a guest star.
Season 2 will continue to follow J.D., Elliot and Turk as they level up from interns to icons at Sacred Heart, inspiring the next generation of doctors while navigating the personal and professional ups and downs of hospital life.
The revival performed solidly in its first season, averaging 8.5 million cross-platform viewers and ranking among the top 25 broadcast shows of the 2025-26 season. Aseem Batra serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside series creator Bill Lawrence, Braff, Chalke, Faison and the team at Doozer Productions. 20th Television is the studio.
