Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star in By All, a dystopian thriller set in a world without cops for Warner Bros. And Creed II director Steve Caple Jr will helm the thriller

The story kicks off in the aftermath of a tragic event and follows Donte, a man struggling to make ends meet who is forced to go on the run in a world without police, where justice is crowd-sourced. The studio and the actor sparked to the action thriller given its provocative and timely premise about the imbalance of power in communities and how it warps the sense of responsibility, family and friendship.
Legendary Entertainment and the Gotham Group are developing the film which is being set up to become a potential franchise.
Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier wrote the screenplay, which is based on their own short story, and they’ll produce the film with Caple as well as Legendary’s Mary Parent and Alex Garcia, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson. Niija Kuykendall will oversee the project for Warners.

Abdul-Mateen II is a hot commodity in the industry right now. He’s lined up a few major projects. His next film Candyman will be out later this month. He is currently shooting Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. And he will star in the upcoming Matrix 4, Mad Max prequel Furiosa and the action film Emergency Contact.
