Yvette Nicole Brown and Husband Anthony Davis Join CBS’ ‘Beyond the Gates’

Yvette Nicole Brown and her real-life husband, Anthony Davis, will guest star on CBS’s Beyond the Gates in the episode airing Friday, November 13. Brown plays Tameka, cousin to Shanice, played by Ernestine Johnson Morrison, while Davis plays Tameka’s husband, Tony.

Tameka and Tony’s arrival in Fairmont Crest comes as Shanice navigates an already complicated stretch, caught between Ted Richardson’s feuding daughters, Kat and Eva, while managing tension tied to Ted’s past marriage as she prepares for their upcoming wedding. The expanding family storyline previously introduced Shanice’s brothers, Cedric and Lamont, with Tameka and Tony’s arrival adding another layer to the family dynamics surrounding the couple’s nuptials.

This marks Brown’s third daytime drama guest appearance. She first appeared on The Young and the Restless in 2016 and 2017 as reporter Lois Thompson, then returned to daytime in 2023 for a particularly emotional General Hospital appearance, playing a nurse in an episode honoring the real-life death of Sonya Eddy, whose character Epiphany died in the storyline. In that episode, Brown’s character told Elizabeth Webber that Epiphany had died after stopping to help her following a car accident, offering Elizabeth a measure of comfort in knowing Epiphany died doing what she loved.

Brown, with more than 190 acting credits, is known for roles across Community, The Odd Couple, The Mayor, Drake & Josh, Boston Legal, and Criminal Minds, among many others. Davis most recently played Deputy Brown on The Family Business: New Orleans.

With a real-life married couple stepping into a fictional marriage just as Shanice’s own wedding storyline heats up, Beyond the Gates leans into a bit of extra authenticity right as the show’s central relationship faces its biggest test yet.
