2025 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards: Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur & Percy Jackson Among Winners

Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur stood out at the 2025 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, earning recognition in multiple categories and highlighting the continued success of both live-action and animated storytelling for young audiences.

Percy Jackson, which recently secured an early Season 3 renewal, took home eight wins out of its 16 nominations, including Best Young Teen Series and Directing for a Single-Camera Live-Action Series. The series has become a breakout hit for Disney+, recording more viewing time than any other original show on the platform outside of Marvel and Star Wars, according to Nielsen.

Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur also had a strong showing, winning Best Children’s or Young Teen Animated Series and Writing for a Children’s or Young Teen Animated Series. The critically acclaimed animated show, which follows the genius Lunella Lafayette and her prehistoric companion, has been praised for its dynamic animation, representation, and vibrant storytelling.

Beyond these two standouts, Orion and the Dark and Sesame Street projects also made their mark. Netflix’s Orion and the Dark won Best Animated Special and Younger Voice Performer for Jacob Tremblay. Meanwhile, Sesame Workshop added more accolades to its legacy, including Best Short Form Live-Action Program for Elmo and Jesse Remember Uncle Jack and a long-awaited first Emmy for puppeteer Leslie Carrara-Rudolph.

Other notable winners included The Velveteen Rabbit, which won Best Fiction Special and Younger Performer for Phoenix Laroche, making him one of the youngest Emmy winners ever. Christian Slater earned an Emmy for his performance in The Spiderwick Chronicles, while Meryl Streep was honored as Best Children’s Personality for her work on Storyline Online.

The evening also celebrated legendary puppeteer Fran Brill, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Muppets’ Dave Goelz.
